This leg of The Amazing Race began with Phil informing us that teams will be flying to Palermo, Sicily, then look for their next clue at Teatro Di Verdura. Clips of all the couples talking about how much the race is helping their relationship are interspersed with shots of teams reading their clues and finding flights. The dentists and the cyclists book a flight that arrives at 8:00 pm the next day; the surfers, Double T, and the scientists will arrive at 8:40 pm. Production is really trying to make this boring introduction interesting, with Double T talking about how…

This leg of the Amazing Race began with a challenge called Horse Drawn Carriages. Teams must deliver hay to the storage area of a stable, then take a horse drawn carriage into town where they will feed their horse and find a Ford Fiesta. All teams except Double T, mother/daughter and the scientists take taxis, which is wise because the task is 10 kilometers away from the pit start. Tim & Te Jay eventually realize that it’s too far to walk, so they get in a cab. The surfers and the cyclists deliver the hay and are off in horse…
This leg of The Amazing Race began with the 8 remaining teams learning that their next destination is Marrakech, Morocco. The cyclists discover that the fastest flight to Morocco will depart at 8:25 am, so all of the teams will be caught up to them. In a cab, Shelley & Nici say that they have reconciled after their disastrous argument at the end of the last leg. At the airport, Misti & Jim tell the other teams that they still have the Save, since it was a non elimination leg. The other teams are visibly upset about this, but Jim doesn’t…
This episode of The Amazing Race began with teams learning that they will be traveling to Copenhagen, Denmark! They need to take a 13 hour ferry back to Aberdeen, Scotland and then catch a flight to Copenhagen. Obviously, the dentists’ one hour lead will be moot because all the teams will be caught up due to this long ferry ride. Misti & Jim arrive at the ferry terminal only to discover that it won’t leave until 5:30 pm (big shocker), so they go to the library to try and book plane tickets to Copenhagen. The dentists book a flight scheduled to…
This episode of The Amazing Race starts at 12:00am, with Bethany & Adam learning that they will be traveling to Shetland, Scotland. Teams have to take a train to Aberdeen, then drive aboard a ferry to the Shetland Islands. Once on the island, they need to drive to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and find a puffin to receive their next clue. The teams discover that the next train is at 6am, so they will all be caught up. On the way to the train station, Scott falls and twists his ankle, which could potentially slow the firefighters down this leg. Kym &…
This leg of The Amazing Race begins with teams learning that they are going to be flying to London! Jim informs us that there are two flights, and only six teams will be allowed on the faster flight, which arrives about an hour and twenty minutes earlier than the second flight. The first six teams to depart from the pit stop this morning – the dentists, Tim & Te Jay, the cyclists, the wrestlers, the surfers, and the scientists – easily get tickets on the faster flight. In an attempt to liven things up a bit, production shows footage of Bethany…
Drumroll, please… Season 25 of The Amazing Race is finally here! Phil starts the episode by reminding us that 25 seasons ago, TAR began in New York City. The start of this leg is in Time’s Square, and for the first time in TAR history, there is a live audience cheering on the 11 teams as they begin their race around the world. The first to emerge from their taxi is married couple Adam & Bethany (#SoulSurfers), followed by scientists and best friends Maya & Amy (#SweetScientists), and dating couple Dennis & Isabel (#TheDatingCouple). In my opinion, if your hashtag is simply…
The time has finally come to find out which Paladin will become the One True Hero! This episode begins with Ansgar leading the Paladins to their final reckoning. Verlox’s men are out on patrol and Ansgar tells the Paladins, Crio, and the Queen to hide while he creates a diversion. Sir Ansgar tells them that no matter what, they need to make it to the Fates. This is noble and all, but I’m not sure why Ansgar couldn’t have hid with them, then waited for Verlox’s men to pass, like they have done in the past. Sir Ansgar fights valiantly…
Last week’s episode ended with an unknown beast entering the camp, presumably having tracked the Queen via her pendant. This episode begins with the Paladins sitting around the campsite in the morning, so whatever beast visited last night seems to have left as quietly as it came. Minutes after the Queen, Ansgar and Crio join the Paladins, they are surrounded by creatures called the Rana. They have the body of a human and the face of a mutant sea creature. Since they are drastically outnumbered, the Queen orders her subjects to do what the Rana say. They are led – as…
The end of the previous episode left us wondering what beast is near the campground – could it be something sent by Verlox? The title of this episode, The Dragon’s Lair, basically gave this surprise away. As the Paladins, the Queen, and Sir Ansgar reach the top of the hill, they see a dragon flying through the air and breathing fire on a nearby town. The Queen says that the dragon is destroying an outpost, and they must go help. Sir Ansgar cautions the Queen that it isn’t safe for her to investigate, but she insists on being a part of the…
