We meet the houseguests 8 at a time. Alex is the first one to enter the house. A first houseguest in has never won the game. As a superfan, she should know that. Duh, girl. Just duh. As the second group of houseguests enter, Megan immediately gives Jessica the cold shoulder, ignoring Jessica as she tries to hug her. Insecure much? Alex, Ramses and Megan all confess to each other that they’re super fans and later pull Jillian into their clique. If Megan didn’t prejudge Jessica for being pretty, she’d have learned that Jessica is also a super fan.
The houseguests start to get to know each other with a champagne toast. Kevin introduces himself first, and Josh says in the DR that he looks like a villain from a superhero movie. Christmas and Dominique dumb-down their careers. Megan is hiding an extensive previous military background behind her Dog Walker job. She didn’t tell us about that in her bio. Cody=Monte 2.0 with a more controlling, conservative personality, if you qualify that as a personality. I can smell the d-bag coming from him, and I’m on the East Coast. He does admit that Jessica is a possible distraction for him from the game. Hope she can figure out how to get a restraining order from the DR. Plenty of houseguests are attracted to each other immediately. It will be interesting to see who ends up with whom.
Julie calls the houseguests to the living room to tell them that this season is the Summer of Temptation. Each temptation will have a consequence. There will be 3 temptations on the first night, and each comes with a consequence. The first temptation is money. The houseguests are sent to the backyard and are tempted with $25,000. The winner will have 2 consequences. The first is having to throw the first HOH competition and the second will be revealed later. Each houseguest is enclosed in a coconut with a button to press when a light comes on. Multiple houseguests hit their button with a few hold-outs not wanting a twist to be unleashed on the house. Kevin wins the money, and immediately starts unbuttoning his shirt so he can tell the houseguests that the heat was getting to him. He’s so gangster or so the show wants you to believe based on his introduction tonight with mobster music playing in the background.
The doorbell rings, and Paul enters the house. #YourBoyIsBack! Immediately, several of the houseguests start fan-girling over him—Meagan, Raven, Jessica, Josh and Cameron, specifically. It’s then revealed by Julie that Paul is part of the first ever houseguest swap. Paul is given a box with 9 friendship bracelets, one for him and 8 houseguests of his choosing. The houseguests are then tasked with tempting Paul with giving them one of the bracelets. Paul decides that it’s only fair for him to split them evenly between guys and girls. He goes into the lounge and they each come to him to campaign. Paul says of Raven, “Cindy Lou, your sweet little Southern accent and bun head isn’t going to work on me. Okay, maybe it worked a little.” Elena makes him a cheese sandwich and tells him a ‘Dad’ joke. He appreciates the gesture because “Your boy loves brie.” Cody just sits there, says nothing and it’s super awkward. These two are polar opposites in that Cody is lacking a personality and Paul is expressive and funny. Grodner, why’d you cast Cody? He says he doesn’t like Paul and wants to backdoor him as soon as possible. Josh tells Paul that he was a huge fan of his, and that people have been stupid to share how much of a fan they are of the show and of him. He tells Paul he wants to work with him. Paul asks him to trust him if he doesn’t give him a bracelet. Paul chooses: Kevin, Raven, Dominique, Mark, Jason, Jessica, Ramses and Elena for safety. Josh says afterwards that Paul did him a favor by not picking him because it disconnects them. I thought Josh was possibly going to be too much, but after tonight’s premiere, I really like him. He gives good DRs!
The other 8 houseguests must compete for safety in Tempted by the Fruit. Each must balance on a bar while holding a rope. In front of them are 7 models painted as snakes holding apples. There are 4 safe apples and 3 poisoned apples. Julie will give them hints as to which apples are safe as the competition goes on. Jillian falls first. Megan is next. Josh, Cameron and Christmas throw it to keep from being seen as threats. Cody decides to play psychological warfare with Matthew and Alex. Matthew falls for it, and drops. Alex tells Cody that she hopes he eats shit. She ends up falling next anyway, and Cody wins the comp. Christmas, Jillian and Cameron received the poison apples and are nominated for eviction.
The 3rd temptation is for Jillian, Christmas and Cameron. Their temptation is the power to choose between a competition that will send one of them home or a houseguest vote. They are called into the diary room to vote. Jillian and Christmas vote for a houseguest vote, while Cameron votes for a competition. They are given time to campaign to their fellow houseguests. Cameron told every single person that he would be loyal to them (impossible) and did a striptease for Elena and Jessica revealing a hairy ass (eeeww!). Jillian told her weight loss story, which was revealed to be done in Tijuana (has everyone not heard horror stories of having surgery there?). Christmas campaigned to Mark. Christmas received 2 votes, Jillian received 3 and Cameron is evicted with 8 votes. He said, “You threw me in a house filled with crazy people.” Welcome to Big Brother, Super Fan!
The first HOH competition will be Thursday 6/29/17 at 9 p.m. EST and live feeds come on at 1 a.m. EST. Voting is open now on cbs.com for the Den of Temptation, a new weekly twist that allows us to send 1 houseguest a temptation. The current temptation is the Pendant of Protection with the recipient protected for the next 3 evictions. Each houseguest may only go into the Den 1 time, so vote carefully as the temptations may become better later in the season. There will be a consequence for each temptation.
