Previously on Biiiiiiiiiiig Brother… Audrey Middleton became the latest casualty in the summer-long battle for a half-million dollars! (Be sure to check out her live #BB17 recap show with Eric and Jon HERE if you haven’t done so already!) Vanessa and Jackie became the new Heads of Household for week five. Read on to find out which houseguests they nominate for eviction and which will be dethroned in the Battle of the Block competition!
Some girl named Jackie is over the moon ecstatic that she is one of the new HOHs for the week. Vanessa, fearing she may have to get a little blood on her hands, did NOT want to be HOH, but once Jackie won the first HOH, Vanessa knew she needed to win it because she was responsible for getting Jackie’s partner Jeff evicted from the house. Meanwhile, Clay, Austin and James lament that the women are steamrolling the guys this summer! I kinda have to admit that they are right. The girls are dominating this season in HOH wins so far. James has a “gut feeling” that a guy will be going home this week. He’s right, but that gut feeling he is having is probably just gas.
Liz and Julia meet in the diary room for another swap. Liz tells Julia that Austin is putting the moves on her. Julia is not too pleased with this and tells Liz to stop playing games with people’s heart. (Translation: Austin is a creep, get the hell away from him!) She also tells Julia that Austin plans to talk with Jason about the twins in order to feel him out and try to make the twins less of a target for Jason. Austin ends up spilling the huge non-secret to Jason and tells him the twin’s name. “ITS NAME IS JULIA!” When Jason said that in the diary room I laughed a little because he speaks as if Julia is some evil swamp monster out to kill the inhabitants of the Big Brother house. Jason later spills this information to Meg and tells her that it is official that there is a twin twist happening in the game. Jason decides he needs to use this tidbit of information to his benefit and try and turn the rest of the house against the twins as well. He blabs to Shelli, who already knows about the twins and is aligned with them. She plays it off like she is shocked when he tells her, but she knows that Austin told him about the twins because Jason knew Julia’s name. Uh-oh! This means that Austin is now on the Sixth Sense’s shit list! Shelli makes Vanessa aware of this as well, and now Vanessa, the reigning HOH, is pissed that Austin sold out his alliance! Shit’s gonna get real now, y’all!
Heads of Household Jackie and Vanessa get together and strategize about this week’s nominations. That is one thing I absolutely DETEST about the Battle of the Block twist! It wasn’t meant for the HOHs to conspire to work together! We need lines to be drawn and power shifts each week. Not this holding hands, working together bullshit! Ugh! Anyway, off my soapbox. Jackie tells Vanessa that she plans on putting up Liz because she put her up last week. She also plans on putting up Steve as well. Vanessa doesn’t argue with this as it would be too obvious that she is working with Liz if she puts up a fight.
Vanessa needs to confirm that Austin is the Judas that has betrayed the alliance by outing the twin “secret” to Jason. He admits that he told Jason about Julia. He tries to act like he was vague in his conversation with Jason, but Vanessa knows better. The possibility of ole Judas getting the backdoor treatment this week is becoming real! Vanessa doesn’t like that his infatuation with Liz is clouding his judgment and he is starting to play emotionally instead of logically. Vanessa then talks to Julia about the thing with Austin and asks if Liz has mutual feelings for him. Julia says she doesn’t think she does. She also doesn’t like the fact that Austin is messing with her sister. This is why we need Julia to be in the house full time! She could totally wreck Austin’s game! I would LOVE this!
The “Dark Moon” alliance is formed between Vanessa, Jason, James, Meg and Jackie. Becky is convinced by Jackie to go on the block with Clay in order to win the Battle of the Block competition and dethrone Vanessa as Head of Household. Jackie’s nominees are supposed to lose the competition by having James throw it, enabling them to go after Austin as the backdoor target for the week. Seems bulletproof, right? We will see!
It’s now time for another nomination ceremony! Jackie is first and she nominates James and Liz for nomination. She cites that she is simply returning the favor since they both nominated her when they were in power. Vanessa is next and she nominates Clay and Becky for eviction. She tells Clay that he has yet to win an HOH or be on the block, so it’s strictly a game move. She doesn’t really give Becky a reason for her nomination, but they both already know the plan is for them to win the BOB and dethrone her for the week. It looks like Operation Evict Judas is going well so far! It all depends on the Battle of the Block to determine if they will be able to follow through with the plan! Meanwhile, my boy Johnny Mac is ecstatic that he is finally not nominated for the first time all summer! I’ve got to say I’m glad I don’t have to sweat it out this week hoping he will win a comp and save himself.
It’s time once again for everybody’s favorite comp, the Battle of the Block! </sarcasm> Meg comes out of the diary room and tells everyone to study the memory wall before heading to the backyard. Major flashback as the #BB17 memory wall disappears and is replaced with the #BB16 memory wall! They head out back to find that the yard has been transformed into a newsroom-slash-giant-Outback Steakhouse-promotion. In the “Splashy Headlines,” the nominees have to throw huge buckets of paint at everything in the newsroom to reveal hidden letters (including letters that could be on their shirts!). These letters will reveal the names of three season 16 houseguests that were “seen eating at an Outback Steakhouse.” The winning team and remaining HOH will receive a special reward! (Of course, it is going to be an Outback meal, we ain’t stoopid!) This competition gets messy FAST. Let me just say that you shouldn’t expect Clay to win a competition that involves spelling… this may just blow up the plan to dethrone Vanessa! James sucks at the competition and is obviously trying to throw it as he is looking for numbers! Numbers! What person has numbers in their name? It doesn’t matter that he sucks so hard because Liz pulls this one out without him. Liz and James win the Battle of the Block and are safe and Jackie is dethroned! Clay and Becky are still on the block and it seems the pretty boy is sweating a little now! Meanwhile, Austin is over the moon that his fair maiden is safe for the week. This also means that Liz officially survives the fifth eviction and Julia WILL enter the game as houseguest #17 on Thursday. This makes it the biggest season of Big Brother ever!
