It was a rather tough week to be a Big Brother fan, at least for most of us! Vanessa is once again HOH and Clay and Becky were nominated for eviction. As fate would have it, the BB gods hate us (surprise, surprise), and Clay won the POV, removing himself from the chopping block. Instead of putting up Austin (or better yet, Liz–whose twin is set to enter the game this week), Jason is up on the block. Read on to find out who leaves and what happens on one of the biggest eviction nights yet!
We begin with the fallout from the veto ceremony. The minority group in the house are shocked at Vanessa’s decision to nominate Jason. Vanessa feeds Jason a line of bull about how she didn’t wanna blindside him but she had no choice. No choice?! You’re the HOH! You answer to no one! Jason ain’t buying what she’s selling and he is PISSED. The most visibly upset person is Meg, believe it or not. She starts bawling like she’s the one going home. Jason says that he is not going to roll over and die this week and he is going to fight as hard as he can. Heh. We’ll see, won’t we? Jason notices that everyone is upset, except for two people… you guessed it! Clay and Shelli. He realizes that they have had a hand in every single eviction to date. Meanwhile, Austin is stoked that he managed to escape eviction this week when he was the original target. He is excited that the Sixth Sense is safe once again (except that alliance is already crumbling and he doesn’t realize it). Meg goes upstairs to Vanessa and is upset that she was made to look like a fool and was excited to work with her. Vanessa wastes no time in blaming the whole thing on Shelli and Clay. She’s such a worm! Won’t even accept responsiblity for her own nominations! Vanessa, Shelli, Liz and Jackie meet in the HOH room and Vanessa and Liz agree that Jason should go. Shelli gets all nervous when she is asked if she is on board with getting Jason out (she is). Jackie immediately notices this shifty behavior from Shelli and knows she is totally on board with this plan to get out Jason. Seeing Jackie all riled up in the diary room and pissed off is kinda great to see! I hope this ignites a fire in her to kick some ass while she’s in the house! Meg and Jackie get together in the cabana room and realize that Clay, Shelli, Austin and Vanessa are working together and they both realize that two people have had a hand in every eviction. Time to do something about, ladies! The battle lines have been drawn!
If you watched the feeds any, you know that Jason basically laid down and died this week. He did not put up much of a fight at all. However, we see a segment of him going into the have-not room to talk to Clay and Shelli in order to make them paranoid and hopefully keep him. He says that Becky is coming after them and will put them on the block together. He says that he can give them more loyalty than those two can. It was a valiant effort, good sir, but I don’t think they’re gonna flip and save you. Sorry, boo boo!
We are treated to a pretty random segment of Johnny Mac’s hometown. It’s pretty cool to be able to “meet” his family, friends and coworkers and get a little insight into his daily life. His colleagues at his dentist office say that the John in the house is way different than the John at work. He is very professional at work while he is loud and a little crazy in the house. His patients love him and trust him 100%. That’s good to know for all of us afraid to let him near our mouths with a drill. We also get to see his family at home cheering him on. His father said he was shocked when John wanted to go to dental school, as health classes used to make him sick to his stomach. Johnny Mac’s little brother, Jordan, is also cheering his brother on at home and knows his brother’s strategy is to get everyone to like him and then stab them all in the back. I KNEW IT! Also, it appears that trademark laugh runs in the family because Jordan laughs exactly like him! It’s seriously the best thing ever. If anyone in production or casting reads this blog, we need Jordan to be on a future season!
It is now time for the live vote and eviction! Jason and Becky both give their final pleas to the houseguest and the vote begins. Everyone votes to evict Jason except for James and Meg. Even Jackie decides to vote with the house, which was kind of a shock since the battle lines have already been drawn and everyone knows where the others stand. By a vote of 7-2, Jason becomes the fifth person evicted from the house! He leaves the house for his interview with Julie to screams and cheers from the audience. He admits that he was naive to think the Dark Moon alliance was a real thing. He says that he started to feel comfortable this week, and we all know when that happens, you are a goner. Julie confirms the twin twist to Jason and asks him why he didn’t use it as strategy instead of running his mouth to everyone about it. Jason admits that his fan side overrode his player side and he just couldn’t contain his excitement and had to tell people. He gets goodbye videos from Shelli, Jackie, Meg and Liz. Shelli admits he left at the hands of the Sixth Sense, and Liz left him kind of a nasty message. She tells him to “have fun watching from mom’s basement!” That was a completely unnecessary bitch remark from Liz (and that’s another reason she’s my least favorite twin), but I’m sure the diary room prompted her to make that remark about him.
It is now time for the big moment of the season. Julia is about to enter the house as houseguest #17! This officially makes the largest cast in Big Brother history. Obviously, the whole house already knows about the twins, so Julie can’t surprise them with this news. In order to create some faux suspense, they decided to sequester Julia after Liz’s nomination earlier this week and “surprise” her with the news. She sits down for a quick interview with Julie and Julie says one of two things is about to happen: she is either going home or is about to enter the game. I’m sure Julia already knew she was going in since she was told to wear athletic clothing for tonight’s show. But whatever, they have a show to produce here. I get it. Julie tells Julia that Liz won the Battle of the Block and therefore was safe this week. Julia heads into the house to cheers from everyone, including her sister who practically tackled her at the front door! Julie confirms to the house that they had to survive five evictions in order for Julia to enter the game. She also says that since Julia enters the house, the game is now “resetting.” (We hate that word Julie, STAHP IT!) Starting tonight, the BATTLE OF THE BLOCK IS NO LONGER A THING! Praise Jocasta, halleluyer, God is good! Only one HOH will have power each week. No more collaboration between heads of household and no more throwing the Battle of the Block each week!
It is now time for the first solo HOH of the summer! The houseguests head to the backyard to discover that this will be a battle of endurance! BB fans will recognize this as the “wall” comp that we have every year. In fact, we have already seen a variant of this comp week one, in which James won! Foreshadowing? Hmmm…. In “On the Edge,” the houseguest have to hang on to the cliff the longest in order to get the most coveted power in the game! Of course it’s not as simple as hanging on to the ledge. They start getting doused in cold showers and even start getting attacked by bald eagles! (Maybe someone’s implants could get punctured… LOL) We will find out Sunday who wins this competition!
