James finally made the move we have all been wanting to be made since the beginning of the season: he nominated the showmance/duo of Clay and Shelli for eviction. It is up to one of them to win the veto in order to save one (or both) of themselves from eviction this week. Will they be able to pull it off? Read on to find out what happened in Wednesday’s episode…
We begin right after the nomination ceremony. Clay and Shelli are pissed to be on the block together and are really starting to feel the pressure. Vanessa tries to talk to Shelli and calm her down but Shelli won’t even listen to her and storms off. Meanwhile, big bad boy Clay calls James a chicken shit for nominating them together… while he’s walking away from him. To be honest, James is the furthest thing from a chicken shit. He made the move that no one else would have made this summer! Shelli snaps her fingers at Clay to get him to stop running his mouth (totally a mom move right there)… James isn’t afraid of him though! He did three years in prison (as a guard). Clay comforts Shelli and tells her he is going to make sure she doesn’t go home, even though she’s the bigger target this week. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Vanessa is having a conniption because she’s the real victim here: Shelli wouldn’t give HER a hug after the nomination ceremony! She’s not on the block but she’s upset she didn’t get a hug! Vanessa walks in to the night club room where Clay and Shelli are in bed wondering why THEY of all people are being targeted instead of Austin or the twins or Vanessa. Vanessa confronts Shelli, asking her why she didn’t get a hug after nominations. She wants to know why Shelli is mad at her when she had nothing to do with it. Shelli tells Vanessa that she should have put Austin up instead of Jason last week and gotten rid of him, because now he’s sitting pretty. This is Shelli already at work trying to get Austin to be the replacement nominee. Vanessa starts freaking out hardcore that this is going to hurt HER game this week and how she can’t believe Shelli and Clay would want to ruin their alliance with her and possibly turn her against them. This girl is PSYCHO! She stomps off to the backyard to continue her freak-out. Jackie and James tell Vanessa that Shelli and Clay always try to pin stuff on others and that’s why they are on the block together. James tells everyone he did it for all of their games, not just his game. Shelli’s nosy self comes out to the backyard to see what everyone is talking about and asks James if they can talk. James, Shelli and Clay meet in the cabana room and Clelli tell James that they have had his back and haven’t betrayed him in any way (except for every week since the beginning as they’ve sent his allies out the door one by one). James doesn’t buy any of the bullshit they are selling and he tells them he knows they had a hand in Jason’s backdoor last week and they could have said no to Vanessa if they were truly against it. He also tells them that they are one and that they will never vote against one another if it came down to it. He says what’s done is done and they have to just deal with it. And this is how James became a fan favorite. He nominated Clelli and didn’t let them try to weasel their way out of being responsible for all the blood they have on their hands.
Shelli meets with Vanessa in the bathroom to do a little damage control and to try and keep her on their side. She says that it was pure emotion that caused her to be mad at Vanessa. Vanessa says that it was rude of Shelli to not hug her after the nominations and Shelli apologizes for it. Vanessa says that should either Clay or Shelli leave this week, she will have the other’s back. This is when they both melt into a pool of tears on the floor as Shelli whines and cries that she and Clay are nominated together this week and one of them will likely be leaving pre-jury.
It’s time to pick players for the veto competition! Six people participate as always: HOH James, the two nominees, Clay and Shelli, and three other random people. James is the first one to pick and he draws the houseguest choice chip, so he chooses Jackie. Yes! Things are going well so far. Shelli chooses Becky’s chip and Clay chooses Vanessa’s chip. This is a pretty good lineup. Jackie is tight with James and will keep nominations the same. Becky will likely keep them the same because it wouldn’t benefit her to use it. Vanessa would use it on either Shelli or Clay, so she is the only one that can’t win this veto.
It is time for the Power of Veto competition! The houseguest all walk into the backyard to find it has been transformed into a medieval-themed competition set, complete with a castle, a catapult and even a moat. This would have been the perfect competition for Austin since he’s the one that’s into all that. In “Game of Throws,” the players take turns at the catapult and launch their dart at the target and the one with the lowest score at the end of each round will be eliminated. They then choose a “prize” once they are eliminated. Some of these “prizes” are really punishments, and one is the POV. Whoever is eliminated can either keep their prize or trade for someone else’s that was eliminated before them. This should be fun! Jackie is eliminated first and she gets the POV, but chances are she won’t keep it. Shelli is knocked out next and chooses the “knight in shining armor” punishment, in which she would have to wear the armor-tard all week. She trades with Jackie and takes the POV. Vanessa is knocked out next and chooses a trip to Ireland. Clay is knocked out fourth and he chooses the “knight of shining armor” in which he will be tied to the knight in shining armor and will have to polish their armor. He trades with Vanessa and takes her Ireland trip. Becky is eliminated fifth and chooses the $5,000 prize. As the winner of the competition, James claims the prize of “castle guard” where he will have to complete the swordsman training regimen 2400 times in 24 hours or be ineligible for the next POV. He decides to swap with Shelli and take the Power of Veto!
It is time for the veto meeting! James has all the power this week and can choose to keep his nominations the same or he can replace one of them with someone else. He decides that he will leave the nominations the same. Either Clay or Shelli are to be evicted next! The showmance duo behind every eviction so far will finally be split up! This is HUGE!
