After Thursday’s eviction, Clelli is no more. Shelli is now in the house alone and another Head of Household is about to be named! Who will be in power this week and who will be in danger of being evicted? Read on to find out more from Sunday’s episode!
We begin as the houseguests are battling in yet another endurance Head of Household competition. “Midway Mayhem” is the annual slippery slope competition where the houseguests race to be the first one to fill up their container with a substance. The houseguests have the ability to earn the “never not” pass and $5000 in addition to the coveted HOH title. James, unable to compete in the competition, hopes that Jackie or Meg wins this week in order to ensure that Shelli, fresh after her boy toy Clay’s eviction, does not win and target them in revenge. Liz and Julia also want to win this one, because with the Clelli duo being broken up, the twins have an even bigger target on their backs. This competition was hilarious to watch as the houseguests take some pretty hard falls on the slope. Personally, I know I would SUCK at this competition! Meanwhile, Meg is creeping along slower than a turtle. The phrase “slow and steady wins the race” does NOT apply to Big Brother, girl! Pick up the pace! Becky is just zooming past the other houseguests like this is a piece of cake for her. After what seems like half the episode, Becky manages to score ALL THREE prizes! She had enough of a lead that she secured the “never not pass,” (no have-not status for the entire summer), $5000 and finally the HOH. There you have it, folks. Becky is the new Head of Household this week. As someone who has been in the middle the whole time, Becky will be forced to choose a side this week. This could get interesting!
Flashback to five hours before the live eviction: Johnny Mac and James are in the night club room talking about how it isn’t right for Clay to be giving up his game for Shelli, someone he has only known for less than two months. John later tells Clay that he will vote him out, even though it is not the best move for his game. John knows that Vanessa is in Shelli’s head and that is problematic and he wants to put a stop to it. Clay runs to Vanessa and tells her that she needs to talk to John because he thinks that she is coming after him. Vanessa pulls James into the cabana room and asks if he has a problem with her. James tells her no and she tells him that it’s gotten back that he’s talking about her to the others. James tells her that he never said to Johnny Mac that Vanessa was in Shelli’s head trying to gun for Johnny Mac. James then runs to Clay and tells him to keep his name out of his mouth. Clay tells him to shut up and get out of there. Things get heated as Clay gets right in James’ face and starts pointing in his face and telling him he will be going home next week. It looked like it almost came to blows there for a minute. I know James is a small guy, but I bet he could have beat the hell out of Clay! (Or at least punched him in the balls… that would’ve shut him up!) Needless to say, this was a huge dramatic moment that was basically ensuring Clay would be the one voted out.
Ok, back to the present: The houseguests head inside after Becky wins the HOH. Shelli breaks down in the bedroom, crying over the death eviction of her son/make-out partner, Clay. She whines about how hard this game is now and how she feels all alone without her partner in the house. Suck it up, girl! You didn’t need him anyway. You won the HOHs, not him! You’re just sad that you don’t have someone to boss around and do your bidding for you. Meg goes over to “console” Shelli, all the while cringing at the fact that she’s having a breakdown. Meanwhile, Becky now has to choose which side of the house she wants to work with. She feels that she can trust Jackie, James and Meg more than the others.
It’s time to see Becky’s HOH room! The houseguests all trudge upstairs to check out her family photos, including a picture of her with her dog. But the real star of this segment is what foods Becky got in her HOH basket/fridge. Most people opt for junk foods like cookies, chips, Cheez-Its, beer and all that fun stuff, but not Becky. She’s a health nut. She got things like asparagus, kale, Greek yogurt and blah, blah, blah… all the boring foods. Seriously, kale has no room in Big Brother, unless you’re talking about KAIL from Big Brother 8. This segment has been brought to you by the produce department at Whole Foods!
Becky, Meg, James and Jackie meet upstairs in the HOH room to discuss the plans for the week. Becky says they will “stick with Vanessa’s plan” to get rid of the remaining member of Clelli this week. But she has a different plan for the week. She is going to nominate Shelli and Steve for eviction, but is going to target Vanessa as a potential backdoor nominee this week. Becky tells the group that the reason Vanessa is always so stressed and paranoid is because she’s pissed so many people off by sending Jeff home, targeting James, and sending Jason out the door as well. They all agree that they need to get rid of Vanessa this week, even though Shelli is also a threat to them. Becky isn’t afraid to go after Vanessa this week, after all… she HAS worked on Black Friday!
It’s time for another “weirdo Steve” segment! Steve admits that he tends to “space out” in real life, and his mind goes in several different directions at once. We see clips of him doing weird little dances and talking to himself around the house. At least Steve acknowledges he’s a stranger person… but I don’t think he truly gets how weird he is. He even goes so far as to pour himself a nice refreshing glass of mouthwash… in a champagne glass! Hey, at least he’s keeping it classy, right? He hasn’t done much in the house game-wise, but at least we get to see his crazy behavior and it makes us all feel a little more “normal” in comparison. Thanks, Steve!
It’s time for the nomination ceremony! Becky is going to stick to the plan this week it seems. She nominates Shelli and Steve for eviction this week. Little does Vanessa know at this point that neither of those two are the real target this week! This will be glorious! Becky tells Shelli that it is hard to put her on the block since she just lost Clay. However, she says that there were fights breaking out because of her and Clay and she can’t let that go. She tells Steve that she wants to see him get dirty and start playing the game and winning comps since he is such a huge fan of the show.
