In less than 24 hours, the SECOND person will be evicted from the Big Brother house. On the last episode, Jason and Steve won the Battle of the Block competition and saved themselves from the chopping block, dethroning Becky as HOH and leaving Shelli in complete control of the house (and Clay in complete control of her). Who will win the Power of Veto and will one of the nominees be saved? Read on to find out!
We begin right after the Battle of the Block competition. Jason and Steve are stoked that they won and therefore safe from eviction for the week. On the other hand, John is hoping that since he held up his end of the deal with Shelli and Clay by not winning the BOB, they will hold up their end of the deal and not send him home. Meanwhile, Shelli is super excited because she now gets to carry through with her plan to get rid of Da’Vonne this week. Becky still thinks that Shelli will be doing her “dirty work” and getting Audrey out of the house. Poor Becky. Poor dumb Becky. Day is upset that she is still on the block and is pissed that the whole house is working together to try and get her out. So are we, Day!
It’s time to pick players for the veto competition! Shelli, Da’Vonne and John will play in the competition along with three other houseguests chosen randomly. Audrey wants to be able to compete so she can’t be backdoored. Shelli draws the “Houseguest Choice” chip and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, she chooses Clay. John chooses Meg’s chip, while Da’Vonne wants to draw Jason’s chip because he’s her ride or die. But she picks “damn Steve.” It’s all up to Mama Day if she wants to stay in the house another week.
Now it’s time for the veto competition! And they are STILL going to stick with the Ginger Fever theme for this comp, too. These game designers really commit to their ideas, don’t they? “High Maintenance” is a knockout-style competition in which two players face off and have to listen to Kathy demand several items from her assistant. Then, the elevator doors will open and they have to recognize which one of those items is missing and retrieve the item and buzz in before their opponent. If they get it right, the opponent is eliminated and they face off against someone else. Up first are John and Da’Vonne and she immediately gets pissed off (something she tends to do) that he chose her right off the bat to try and eliminate her. John beats Day in the first round and now she has nothing to do but to root for him to win the POV. Steve is up next and he challenges Clay. Clay wastes no time and hauls ass to get the rubber ducky that is required and Steve is eliminated from the competition. Next is Meg and she chooses to face off with Shelli. Shelli is the first to ring in but brought back the wrong item and is eliminated. Meg chooses John to play the next round and he chooses to face off with her. He knocks her out of the competition before she gets a chance to even move. The final round has John facing off against Clay. Good vs. Evil. Dentist vs. Douche. Johnny Mac slays the competition and WINS the Power of Veto!
Shelli and Clay are in the HOH room and trying to figure out the best way to get Da’Vonne out of the house. They call Becky upstairs to make sure she is on board with their plan to get out Da’Vonne, who is apparently a bigger threat than Audrey (she isn’t, by the way). Becky is NOT on board with the plan, so they move on to the next plan: they are going to try to get John to NOT use the veto to save himself. LOL! LOLOLOL! Are they idiots?!??!? Who in the actual HELL wouldn’t use the veto to save themselves from eviction? (BESIDES Marcellas.) Of course, that doesn’t pan out too well for Shelli either, so now she must figure out a pawn to go up against Da’Vonne. She gets Liz to (relucantly) agree to go up as a pawn. (This had to send Grodner into a tizzy as her beloved #TwinTwist could possibly be jeopardized before the end of week five.) However, Austin and Vanessa work to get Meg nominated instead of Liz.
The moment of truth is here. It is time for the veto meeting and we already know that John will be using it to save himself. He would be stupid not to, right? Shelli names Meg as the replacement nominee and now either Meg or Da’Vonne will leave on Thursday. It’s looking likely that Da’Vonne WILL be the next houseguest evicted.
Are you glad John won the POV and saved himself? Who do you want to stay: Meg or Da’Vonne? Do you think the Power of the Last Laugh will make any difference at the eviction? Let me know your thoughts on the episode in the comments below or on Twitter @vince1187!
