To say the very least, this week of Big Brother has been a roller coaster for houseguests and even the fans. Shelli won HOH and Clay’s her target for the week was our season 17 DR Queen Mama Day. Easily one of the favorites of the season and roughly half of the drama in the house, fans did not want to see Da’Vonne in danger of leaving so early. Now, she is nominated alongside Meg and one of the two WILL be going home. Read on to find out the results of the second eviction of the summer.
We begin with the aftermath of the veto ceremony. Da’Vonne is angry because everyone in the house are cowards for not nominating Audrey to replace Johnny Mac, and that no one will want to vote to evict sweet, innocent Meg. Audrey is gloating once again because she has escaped the hot seat for the week. Jason feels gutted because his best friend in the house is in danger of going home. Meanwhile, we get a tearful Shelli in the diary room blubbering about how she’s having a tough time with Da’Vonne being on the block. Can it, you witch! If it’s so tough for you, you shouldn’t have nominated her. Save your tears for someone who actually cares!
A giant red telephone booth appears in the house and it is time for the #BBtakeover twist, “The Last Laugh,” to be awarded to one of the houseguests. Everyone runs in the living room and Kathy Griffin comes up on the screen and tells them that everyone will receive a phone call with tips… but only one of them will get tipped off on how they could get the last laugh on eviction night. The lucky caller (we know it is #7) will be able to prevent THREE people from voting on eviction night! Each of the houseguests answer their phone calls and get random insults from Kathy, while Da’Vonne is lucky caller #7!
She plays it off when she comes out of the booth as if she just got insulted. Meanwhile, King Clay is butthurt and whining to his cougar plaything that he wanted to be #7.Day is ecstatic because she thinks this will be HUGE for her and may help her flip the house. She starts to work on trying to secure the votes she needs to stay this week. Audrey is considering keeping her around so the target stays off her back.
Meanwhile, twins Liz and Julia have been swapping in and out of the house, supposedly without being noticed by the other houseguests. However, Da’Vonne has been noticing the differences in Liz’s body every time she sees her. (This all went down on the feeds earlier in the week, check it out here.) She and Jason have a convo about how sometimes Liz is heavier and sometimes she is thinner. Also, Jason points out that she wears a lot of hats and sunglasses in an attempt to conceal her face. They break the news to the others that they are 100% sure that Liz is playing with a twin. They all run inside to look at the memory wall and try to figure out what’s going on. Day is trying to figure out how to use this information to her advantage. I think it would have been better for her to keep this under wraps and use it as blackmail against Liz to try and get her to swing things in her favor. That was a stupid move on Day’s part. Instead, she tries to make it sound like everyone else figured out the twist and are coming after her and she needs her protection.
It is now time for the live vote and eviction! Julie does not reveal to the houseguests who won the power of the last laugh, but she does reveal who the three people are that will not be voting. Da’Vonne has chosen to block Becky, Jeff and Jackie from voting. Julie tells those three to go to the dining room as they cannot be present for the voting process. I’m not entirely sure what her thought process was on choosing those three. As Da’Vonne gives her final plea to the houseguests, she has no bad words for Meg, but throws the current powers in the house under the bus and calls them cowards for putting her up against Meg instead of another huge target. One by one, everyone casts their vote to evict. Jason and Audrey are the only two people that cast a vote to evict Meg. By a vote of 7-2, Da’Vonne becomes the second houseguest evicted!
Julie confirms to Da’Vonne that her suspicions about the #TwinTwist are real: Liz has been swapping in and out of the house with her twin sister, Julia. Da’Vonne explains her strategy in using this news to scare Liz and Julia into working with her. She admits that it probably wasn’t the best way in going about it. Julie asks Day why she is out there and not Audrey, who is a bigger cause of problems in the house. Day says that it’s because everyone in the house is afraid of what the viewers would think of them if they nominated or evicted the first transgender houseguest. I have to agree with this. Some of the BB fandom is so crazy, that the hamsters are terrified of public backlash and are afraid of doing anything that would get them labelled as a “hater.” This can benefit Audrey greatly in the game, and I wonder how far she will be able to go with this.
“Get ready for a takeoverrrrrrrrrrrrr!” (Ugh. Stupid.) Superbowl champ Rob Gronkowski (aka Gronk) announces that this will be a party week. He announces that there will be no have-nots this week. WHOA. Major twist! I gotta hold onto my seat for that one! He also says that he likes winners, so they will definitely want to win this HOH competition. I don’t know if he meant that the HOH will be awarded something this week or not.
The houseguests head to the backyard for the Head of Household competition. This comp is a crap-shoot where anyone can win. “Gronk Pong” is a beer pong-type game where each houseguest takes a turn trying to launch a ball off the lever and into one of several cups that are numbered 1-52. The two houseguests that have the highest numbers will become the next two HOHs for the week. Major shocker I know, but Jackie doesn’t get her ball far enough to make it to a cup and is eliminated. John also fails to score, but it looks like he threw the competition to me. If that’s the case, he needs to cut that out! I’m tired of seeing him on the block. Becky also fails to get her ball into the cup. Austin becomes the first HOH of the week with a score of 28. There is a three-way tie between James, Liz and Vanessa who all have a score of 23, so they must go to a tiebreaker to determine the second HOH. Vanessa scores a 52 and becomes the second HOH!
What were your thoughts on Da’Vonne? Did she rub people the wrong way and lost because of that, or do you think she was unfairly targeted by Clay and Shelli? What are your thoughts on the new Heads of Household? Comment below or tweet me @vince1187 and let’s keep this convo going! 🙂
