Its HERE, Big Brother Canada 4 is HERE. No more waiting, speculating and anticipating. It was an action packed 2 episodes of BBCAN so lets not waste anytime.
We finally get to see our hamsters enter their cage. Going in, as usual, in 3 groups under strict instructions not to talk until they are in the house. First up is Dallas, Cassandra, Maddy, Phil and Sharry. Dallas wastes no time decalring the Big Brother house as his “Casa” He quickly finds the storage room, and the booze and starts to make everyone drinks. Smart move Dallas, the way to everyone’s house is through their stomachs. Loveita, Joel, Raul, Jared and Kelsey are in group number two. Group one welcomes them with drinks. We see that Joel is giant, standing at 6’4″ he towers over everyone’s. Luckily his geek exterior has him looking more like a gangly giraffe than a comp threat. He unfortunately isn’t going to be able to hide and eavesdrop either. Lastly is Paige, Mitch, Ramsey and Christine. The oldest and youngest brought into together you’d think Christine having kids Paige’s age she may feel a little maternal towards her….Nope think again. Maddy dislikes Kelsey right off the hop, and Kelsey and Jared have an instant chemistry. Neither got the memo that showmances make you targets.
After a quick round robin of hello’s, Arisa wastes no time giving them the first twist. Say hello to Nick everyone. Yes the brother rumor is true. Nick enters the house and Phil is all HEEEEYYYYYY and Nick just sticks is hand out for a handshake. Phil gets the hint quick he’s playing it off as if they are strangers. Their cover is blown almost instantly by Arisa. Nick and Phil (not twins) are playing Big Brother as one person. Nominated together, evicted together, Have Not’s together and alternating week to week who plays the competitions they will share the prize. A thought Phil is not to happy about. Neither knew the other was in the house so they are as shocked as the rest. How could they not know you ask? I asked the same thing. They didn’t notice producers doing bio packs for each of them or they were both on a plane to Toronto? For the inside scoop on all that watch Eric and I’s Week One Recap! They need to decide quick who’s playing this weeks competitions and Nick is up for the brother Paquette.
Wasting no time we are right into the first HOH called One Night Stand. Standing on a plank and holding on to a rope they have to balance as cold water is splashed on them (Think Belagio Fountain like) constantly. They are to move down the plank as Arisa tells them and it gets smaller and smaller. The ropes will also be tugging at them throughout the competition. Last one standing wins HOH. Remember Joel at 6’4″ with giant feet? Not a good comp for him. The twist here is before the competition started each house guest had to bet on who would win and who would be first out. Joel was voted first out and the brothers were voted to win. If Joel beats the bet he is immune, if the brothers don’t win they get a night of solitary confinement. The kiss of death anytime in the BB house but most importantly on the first night. Lucky for Joel, Cassandra is off her plank first. With no need to win HOH because of his immunity he just jumps off. Dallas goes next then the girls as the ropes start tugging. Nick is struggling. The rope finally take him down and he accidentally nudges Sharry off her plank. It comes down to Loveita and Jared. He tells Loveita if she keeps him safe she can have it. A deal she agrees to and Loveita, for better or for worse, is our first HOH of Season 4.
Loveita wastes no time picking an alliance member in Sharry and the two head into the storage room to discuss nominations. Cassandra, Kelsey and Joel (if he didn’t have that darn immunity) are the top of the list. Joel wanders in looking for food and interrupts the girls. Meanwhile the brothers enter the High Rollers Room for their night of solitary confinement. Lets jus say they have it way better than Bobby and Sindy did last year. At least they have couches. It seems the boys are on different pages. Phil sees being saddles with baby brother as a bad thing, where Nick thinks its good. They have each others backs they can be in two places at once. Phil needs to starts seeing the advantages to the situation or it’s never going to work. They fight like brothers and play like brothers. These two will be fun to watch in the house and their DR’s so far have been the most entertaining.
Loveita is using her HOH room to hold court and is hearing everyone out, she wants her nominations to be seen as a house decision. She won’t go back on her word so Jared is safe and just needs to find a way to protect Kelsey. She speaks to Paige and tells her she’s going to be a pawn. Is it going to be this kind of season. Just pick two people you don’t care leave and call it a day. Don’t target a potential ally! Her short list as she makes her decision are Cassandra, Kelsey, Christine (because no one will care if she leaves) and Paige. She decides on Kelsey and Paige. Kelsey because she’s strong competition and Paige because she doesn’t know where her head is at. Although Paige is only 19 she’s smart enough to know that pawns go home. Loveita tells Kelsey she told Paige she was a pawn which has now fueled Kelsey’s fire to fight.
We quickly head in to the Veto competition. Loveita chooses HG Choice and chooses close ally Sharry. Paige picked Raul and Kelsey got the brothers so Nick will be playing. You walk into the backyard to What the Shell!? Dressed as mermaids they need to slip and slide over “waves” to the beach on the other side. Once there reel in their shells and head back with each letter to form the phrase Calm Before the Storm. This is not your backyard slip and slide people. Everyone is struggling, Raul was HILARIOUS playing everything up and throwing his hair around. Poor Paige falls backwards hitting her head. Only Nick had the idea to get all his letters his first go around and then just work on bringing them back. They are all having a hard time with the phrase. Raul comes up with Blosum the Fecas ???? Don’t judge him, English isn’t his first language. Finally Nick sees the word storm and it clicks. Nick win the power of Veto!
Kelsey now has to amp up her game to stay. She uses her one skill….flirting. She already has Jared, and she works on reeling in Dallas and Phil. She succeed on the Phil front who thinks she’s perfect. Loveita is not impressed with Kelsey what so ever. Paige is quietly working on her own team, so quietly we never really see it. Phil has fallen hard for Kelsey though and rallies Mitch and Joel over to his side. Mostly because keeping a showmance in the house takes a bit of the target off him and Nick. Meanwhile Sharry and Loveita have no idea the votes are flipping and are so sure Paige will stay. Time for the live vote. Normally we see the first vote be a unanimous or close to vote. Not this time, not this house. Lines are drawn immediately when the house goes against Loveita’s wishes and in a e Paige says good-bye to her dream and leaves the Big Brother house.
Now that the business of the day is done Arisa drops the bombshell about the wildcards she warned about the night before. She introduces them to Tim, Jase, Veronica and Nikki and explains that 2 will be going in to play the game. Really play the game. Same rules apply, same grand prize. They are given one week reprieve to get their footing and it’s off to the races for them. Reactions range from excited to Maddy being blunt saying it’s not fair! It’s Big Brother honey, it’s not going to be fair! Arisa finally reveals that, like we expected, Tim and Nikki are entering the house. The episode ends with them suprising the house guests. How will this new twist change the game? Will the internationals make it once they immunity is over? Comment below and let me know!
