This season is really flying by! It’s hard to believe that in a couple of weeks, America’s Next Drag Superstar will be crowned! We are now down to the sickening six queens and this week one more sashays away! Read on to find out who goes home without the crown!
RuPaul enters the werk room and announces this week’s mini-challenge: the queens have to use tape to give themselves facelifts and then shoot an intro for The Fake Housewives of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which is clearly a spoof of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise of reality shows. This was a fun segment to watch! Kennedy looks like she didn’t use much tape at all. The funniest ones in my opinion were Katya, who was completely covered in tape, Violet, who looked like Voldemort, and Trixie Mattel. Ru announces that the winner of this challenge is Kelly Mantle Violet Chachki!
For this week’s main challenge, the girls will pair off and dance to mash-ups such as the “Tango Vogue,” the “Charleston Twerk” and the “Country Robot.” There’s one more thing: for the first time in herstory, they will be wearing half-man, half-queen drag! This one should be interesting. As the winner of the mini-challenge, Violet gets to assign the pairs. She will be paired with Katya, Ginger is paired with Trixie and Kennedy is paired with Pearl. They set to work on their routines for the dance-off. Ginger and Trixie are concerned that Ginger is not able to dance… AT ALL. Trixie is not about to be outshined by Ginger this week… or is she?
The girls begin rehearsing with Kym Johnson of Dancing with the Stars and Carson Kressley, who had a short lived run on the show as well. Let me just say that these rehearsals were a HOT MESS and I seriously doubted whether or not any of them a could pull this thing off. Pearl twerking? Gurl bye! Violet can’t do a leg flick to save her life. Meanwhile, Trixie tries to perfect lifting the delicate flower that is Ginger Minj, which was truly a sight to behold, trust me on that one.
It’s time for the main stage once again! Before the main event, the queens show off their half-assed looks on the runway. Half-man, half-drag, FULL GAG! Ru even has a Ru-veal of her own… legs for days that give me life! One of the best looks of the evening belonged to Pearl. Wow. Both sides of her were HAWT! Trixie’s look was campy and country and so cute! Of course, Ginger Minj came stomping down the runway like a Clydesdale in heat and she can do no wrong in my eyes. Violet Chachki and Katya both looked sexy and elegant… on the left side anyway. Now it’s time for the dancing competition. Up first are Kennedy Davenport and Pearl with the Charleston twerk! I was pleasantly surprised and entertained with this. Pearl is obviously not the strongest dancer but she played up the entertainment factor and had fun with it! Next are Ginger Minj and Trixie Mattel with the Country Robot. This was a cute dance but you could definitely tell that Ginger was outside of her comfort zone here. Finally we have Katya and Violet Chachki with the tango vogue. WOW! They absolutely KILLED it with their routine. They almost flawlessly pulled this one off. They had great energy, the choreography was great and they were entertaining!
It’s time for the judges’ critiques. The queens are judged as pairs this week. Ru announces that the winning duo this week are Katya and Violet! The bottom two are Ginger and Trixie and they must now lip sync for their life! Seriously, Ginger, you have got to stop scaring me like this! I can’t stand the thought of you being in danger of leaving! The two lip sync to “Show Me Love” by Robin S. They both do great at this lip sync but I gotta say that Ginger Minj knows how turn it out when she lip syncs. She made sure that all of the attention was on her! She knocked Trixie off her feet and even was sliding around on the stage! In the end, Trixie Mattel sashays away once again and we are down to the fierce five!
It’s getting down to the wire! Before you know it, the season will be over. Who do you think the final 3 will be and who do you want to become America’s Next Drag Superstar? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter!
