I’m late in posting this so let’s not waste any time; I did have valid reasons, though! Back from Tribal Council and it is gloomy faces all around. Trish right off the bat wants to be clear with Lindsey, they bamboozled Cliff – Lindsey tells her to get real and the drama ensues. Trish respects Lindsey, but she doesn’t like her, Lindsey says she is annoyed by everything Trish does and that she should back up, shut up and leave her alone because she’s not on Trish’s team. Does Trish care? Nooope! Lindsey will be happy if she never has to think of her again. Tony, of all people, is trying to calm the ladies down, but there is really nothing he can do. It’s crazy how quickly things escalated, and to the point that Lindsey has to go away from camp to collect her sanity and decide what she’s going to do next. Trish is sure Lindsey is just went off to lick her wounds since she’s not used to being called out like that…
All of sudden, though, Jeff has been summoned to the beach; Lindsay apparently asked for him. When Jeff asks her what’s wrong, Lindsey starts in on Trish and how she’s saying awful ridiculous things and that she can’t have someone antagonizing her. That is why Lindsey claims she walked away from camp, she didn’t want to flip out and have her daughter see her behave badly. She just can’t take it anymore and when asked if she is quitting, Lindsey says yes. Jeff acts almost as if Lindsey is doing some admirable, unique thing – to quit because you don’t want to do something you regret. Lindsay says her lowest point will be walking away from that beach. And she doesn’t want to walk back to camp to tell everyone that’s she’s quitting either – she’s makes Jeff do it for her.
I CAN’T STAND SURVIVOR QUITTERS. And I don’t appreciate Jeff trying to make Lindsey into a hero for quitting. There are thousands of other people who wanted to be in that spot, she had a really good shot at winning a million dollars, but she threw it all away because she didn’t want to play the game anymore – she’s a Monopoly Board Flipper. Great message to send your daughter Lindsey – when the chips are down, give up – what a great message. There was no personality conflict with Trish, I didn’t think she came off as a bully at all, but maybe it was just the editing, but I’m not buying what Lindsey was selling to Jeff Probst that night on the beach. You are stronger than that. I know you are and you could have gone a lot further in the game had you stayed.
I’m so on the fence with Tony! I’m sure he’s a great guy in real life, but he’s playing a sloppy, sloppy game of Survivor – and he’s getting away with it! Giving props where props are due, I have to mention in this post what Tony says after Lindsey leaves – something about turning the head and the body follows, Cliff was the head, Lindsey was the body and they booted two for the price of one. He’s so giddy about it too. LJ and Woo think that they are in a good position, but Woo is still worried about his “tough position” and could see himself going home if they have to go to Tribal. What?! No! Woo! You can’t go home! You’re my pick to win? What makes you say that anyway? You were willing to vote out Cliff before, I don’t think there is any reason to target you unless… Oh wait.. You’re better at everything than LJ! <wink> Love you, Woo!
Reward Challenge: Well, first we have to talk about what happens when the tribes converge on Challenge Beach and see that two Solana members are missing instead of one. Sarah is beyond shocked, Alexis is glad the beauties are still around and Spencer is overjoyed that two people are gone and he didn’t have to do a thing. Moving onto the challenge, the reward is sending two members of the tribe to the opposing tribe for a raid. The challenge is a series of two person duels; each person will hold a post with an idol on it with the goal of knocking off the other person’s idol.
First up is some man on man action from Spencer and Woo… Really, Jeff Probst? I mean, really… Woo begins the duel very flirtatiously, smiling and taunting Spencer, who inches forward, getting closer and closer. Spencer begins taunting as well, lunges, and Woo’s idol hits the sand. Point Aparri. Trish and Tasha are next in the ring and Tasha shifts into Aggro Mode while Trish swats at her, “like a gnat”. Tasha makes a risky move and Trish scores a point for Solana. Sarah and Jefra go next; Sarah is not holding back and she must have spooked poor Jefra because she accidentally tips her pole and the idol falls the sand. Point, Aparri. Next up, the Bearded Mountain Men Beauties Showdown! In this corner, Jeremiah, in the other, LJ – it’s over quick, LJ wins. Nice try, Jeremiah.
The score is tied when Jeff announces the next round will be man vs. woman. Morgan is paired with Tony. Before the match, LJ warns Tony not to look her in the eyes or he’ll get sucked in – lol, LJ. Tony wins it easy putting the score at three to two and we’ve cycled back to Spencer and Woo. Spencer must win to tie the score or the challenge is over and Solana wins. When Jeff says go, Woo is right on Spencer – Good Lord, now I sound like Jeff Probst… Spencer is calm while Woo makes a big move and it doesn’t faze him, it’s a real showdown! It doesn’t last long, though; Woo moves in again and brings home the win for Solana. He and Tony will be going to the other camp, their former home! Jeff gives them a note to read by themselves after arriving at Aparri and away we go!
Tribe Raid! Since it’s their former camp, Tony and Woo know what the other tribe has so they announce that they are going to read the note and find a quiet spot on the beach. Part one of the note tells them what they can and cannot take, part two is a clue to the hidden Immunity Idol… Hidden at the Solana camp from what I can tell, but Tony is so giddy and talking so fast that he’s hard to follow during what happens next. After Woo and Tony decide to take some comfort and fishing gear, they pull Jeremiah from the group and “give him the clue to the hidden Immunity Idol”. Tasha immediately takes it as a sign that they want to work with Jeremiah, which is exactly what Tony was hoping would happen and he’s pretty happy with himself for creating so much drama. Jeremiah tries to play it off, but no one is listening to him. Then Tony runs back to retrieve the clue so no one figures out his trick…
When they get back to camp, Tony is Celebration City; he tells the rest of the tribe all about his trick on the Aparri tribe – Jefra is glad Tony is on her side! Then Tony tells them that he’s a cop and LJ does not look nearly as pleased as Jefra. Trish is impressed that Tony kept is hidden for so long and LJ is confused. How does one establish trust by exposing ones lies? LJ calls Tony a dummy – Yes, LJ! He’s playing so sloppy! You totally need to be on your toes at all times. And in the water more, I like LJ in the water. At Aparri, talk of the hidden Immunity Idol clue is still all the rage. Alexis thinks she needs to resolidify her “alliance” with the Brains, but Spencer thinks the conversation sounds “planned” on her end of things. Spencer thinks Alexis is phony and not to be trusted! Jeremiah also has a chat with Spencer and makes a very valid point: Why would anyone in their tribe get rewarded with a clue? They lost the challenge. There is no reward for them. And it was the same exact clue that he saw back at the other camp when he was there. Spencer doesn’t believe him.
So, when a Beauty displays the qualities of having a brain, a Brain’s brain just cannot accept it to be true, no matter how sound the logic? Is this what we are going to learn from this season of Survivor? Okay, just making sure…
Immunity Challenge 5: So Tasha and Morgan sit out this challenge since their tribe has two extra members. In this challenge each tribe must build a staircase with more pole pedestal things, maneuver through a multilevel maze accessed by the staircase, pull a key through a rope maze to unlock a machete that will be used to hack a rope to release puzzle pieces and I think all you Survivor fans can figure out the rest from there. Aparri finishes the staircase first, but Solana is not far behind them. Sarah is tearing this maze apart! Both teams are working together very well and are through the multi-level easily and down the slide from Hell. Seriously, a bamboo slide? Ouch!
Both tribes are through the key maze easily; Jeremiah has much better luck with the machete, though. Sarah and Spencer get to work on the puzzle, which involves numbers and will reveal the code to the combination lock that releases the tribe flag to win the challenge. Tony is costing his tribe a lot of time not being able to chop through the rope, but he finally does and Woo and AJ work on the puzzle for Solana. Everyone is having trouble, though, because those game designers are pretty good when it comes to these puzzles! Sarah and Spencer lose their lead, though, and Woo and LJ figure out the puzzle first – Solana wins! And Tony totally pulls a Gervase and beings yelling “Top Five”, which is a tell tale sign for Sarah that she is not included in Tony’s future game plans, but that’s okay, she’ll make a new alliance!
After the challenge, at Aparri, all talk is about Alexis and Jeremiah and who is more trustworthy moving forward. Sarah is working hard to make sure everyone understands that she has cut all ties to the Brawn tribe after Tony’s bravado after the challenge, but no one is really paying that much attention to her – the Brains are more concerned with the Alexis and Jeremiah and which one is more likely to flip after the merge. Funny how little Morgan, the one who lied about the whole clue/rice thing, is totally not a target, isn’t it? Spencer doesn’t know who the bigger liability is, Tasha doesn’t know how to plan for the merge either. Kass lets us know that the Brians are pretty much in control, they are going to vote as a block, they are the leaders. It took awhile for the Brains to come into their own in this game, but they just needed people to boss around and now they’ve found their zombies. lol
Tribal Council 5: Jeff is quick to point out that there are three Brains and three Beauties and that Sarah is in the middle all alone. He asks Morgan if the Beauties are tight and the whole thing about Jeremiah lying about voting to keep Brice in the game comes into play. Kass finds it comforting that BeautyBeach wasn’t so pleasant. The Brains went through tough times together and the easy life tore the Beauties apart; it’s a breath of fresh air. Spencer brings up a good point that the Aparri tribe needs a tight group moving forward into the Merge, which leads to Sarah reminding everyone that Tony was yelling “Top Five”, she’s not part of that group anymore. Alexis reminds, though, that there is always room to reconnect on the other side… Talk of the clue Tony and Jeremiah shared is brought up, but it really doesn’t matter. When it’s time to vote, the majority have decided that Alexis is more untrustworthy and her torch is snuffed.
Don’t worry, though, Kat tweeted that she would date Alexis, even though she didn’t make the Merge, which is happening next week! OMG! It snuck up on me! And one tribe member, Sarah, will hold all the cards?! This season has been so good! Ever since the disaster that was Survivor One World (except for Kat and some of the boys and Christina), I was afraid Survivor couldn’t recover, but they so did! Tune in next week on CBS at 8/7c to see what happens in the Merge!
