This time on Survivor… We are returning to Kindergarten Camp because after Nick’s exit from the game, Scot and Jason are pissed and decide to sabotage the girls and Joe to make life at camp for them as difficult as possible. Tai doesn’t like this idea, it’s not his style, but he can’t control what the other boys do. Their plan is to stop providing food and to hide the machete and ax. Scot and Jason also want to throw the Super Idol into the girls’ faces at the next Tribal Council… The next morning, Joe is up early tending to the fire when Jason and Scot wake up and they quietly gather the machete and ax, walk into the jungle, and hide the tools. Once the sun, and rest of the tribe, is up and the cameras switch off their night filters, our scene is set for the revelation of the sabotage and it’s not long before the girls start questioning the whereabouts of the machete and ax. It is also not long before everyone realizes that the Brawny Boys have sabotaged the rest of them. No big deal though! Michele knows they can find ways to eat without the machete and ax and they do. The ladies throw coconuts on the fire and Cydney finds a saw and TADA! Roasted coconut for breakfast anyone?
As if Scot wasn’t angry enough, watching and listening to the girls as they “brag” about their ability to prepare food without the tools that he and Jason hid elevates his anger level to “Time To Do Something Stupid” mode. Very calmly, Scot stands, picks up a five gallon water container then proceeds to dump every drop of water from it onto the fire. Everyone is shocked by Scot’s actions, of course, and when Joe asks why he would sabotage the whole tribe, Scot’s counter question is to ask Joe why he sabotaged them last night at Tribal Council. Joe is just as confused as I am by this question because I didn’t think Joe and Scot had ANY specific kind of alliance or agreement that would validate Scot’s response. Joe tells him that’s the game and he and the girls get to work on starting a new fire and it doesn’t take long until they are successful. Watching from the shelter, Tai tells Scot and Jason that he knew they would get it started again; Scot says they will put it out again – whatever it takes to wear the rest of the tribe down. Tai voices his opinion that they shouldn’t go too extreme, but the other boys are not going to back down. Scot wonders what other fun things they can do…
Come on in, guys! It’s time for Reward. Up for grabs? Chinese food delivered to camp! In this challenge, two teams of four will be clipped to a tangle of ropes and must work TOGETHER to unwind the ropes then each player must go over and under a hurdle until there is no rope on the top. Once each player is back on the starting mat, the team can proceed to the final station where they must throw sandbags at wood blocks on a narrow table. The first team to remove all the blocks from the surface of the table wins. There was supposed to be a schoolyard pick to determine teams, but Jeff offers the tribe the opportunity to agree on the teams since they are so divided with all the sabotage and whatnot, and who will sit out the challenge without all the hassle. Joe sits out and will be granted to the opportunity to “bet” on which team will win and if they do, he will enjoy reward as well. Tai, Jason, and Scot stick together leaving the five girls with a decision to make about who is going over to play with the boys. Julia volunteers and red flags go up for Cyd and rightly so – Julia knows Scot and Jason won’t get many votes in the end and she volunteers to play with them so she can buddy up to the boys and maybe form an alliance. So! Survivors ready? GO! It’s a pretty even race as the teams unbraid the ropes, but despite some early stumbling, Julia and the boys pull ahead of the women and by the time the ladies start throwing sandbags, the boys have more than half of their blocks on the sand and they DO catch up a bit, buuuut… Joe did not back the right horse. Julia and the boys win this one and Aubry is hip to Julia’s game as well…
After the challenge, Julia and boys sit down to a lovely meal of Chinese food. Jason and Scot are both really excited about the prospect of Julia maybe coming over to their side, the dark side – they have fortune cookies! When Jason asks the question, Julia gives a favorable answer. She’d be stupid to get rid of the boys because she’s on the bottom of the Cyd/Joe/Aubry/Debbie/Michele group, no one will vote for Scot or Jason in the end, and she says she’s going to keep them informed of what the others are discussing. As the winners walk back to camp, the rest of the tribe is excited to get down to five people and everyone except Debbie and Joe suspect that Julia is flipping her allegiance to the boys. Debbie thinks Julia is really smart and is probably just gathering information for the majority – Debbie says there is no way Julia will flip. Later, Debbie asks Julia if the boys tried to sway her; Julia says they did, but there is no way they “got” her then Debbie reveals a little bit of the plan – she thinks Jason is the brains of the Brawn operation – and Julia pumps for a little info about vote splitting. Cydney totally knows what Julia is doing and has a chat with Aubry who also knows what Julia is doing and both women agree – They have to vote to send Julia home.
Ext. Night 23. Dara Camp. Tai wakes up in the middle of the night. A voice over from Tai lets us know that Tai is committed to the boys; he doesn’t like Operation: Sabotage, but if this is war, it’s “us and them” sooooooooo… Tai allows his evil side to take over and he douses the fire while everyone is sleeping. The next morning Joe and Aubry are looking at the completely dead fire when Tai groggily asks if there are any embers… Aubry acknowledges that the sabotaging is childish, but she knows that it was a deliberate attempt by Scot and Jason to throw everyone off their scent because they probably have Idols, which means that Julia really needs to be their target this week. Later in the day, Aubry is out in the ocean with Debbie – Debbie does not like what Scot did to the fire, he’s messing with their actual lives, and she wants him gone. Aubry lays out her reasoning for voting for Julia, including her hunch that they could flush all the Idols in the game, but Debbie, while she respects Aubry’s gut feeling, will not vote for Julia. She absolutely will NOT vote for Julia. This is disappointing for Aubry, and frustrating, because Debbie is playing way too emotionally and there is nothing Aubry can do about it. She’s gone along with Debbie on a lot of things, but Aubry ABSOLUTELY believes it’s important to vote out Julia this week…
Come on in, guys! It’s time for Immunity and it’s a difficult one! In this challenge, each tribe member must work around an obstacle to line up wooden blocks on a narrow beam with the purpose of knocking them down like dominos – the first person successfully knock down the blocks to hit a gong at the other end wins. Every time a block drops, they have to go back and re-enter the obstacle before re-stacking. Survivors ready? GO! After a few mishaps with other players, Michele and Tai are neck-n-neck until he trips his beam and all his blocks drop, then Aubry loses everything, then Cydney then it’s all about Michele and Debbie. Feeling confident, Michele goes for the win, but her last couple of blocks weren’t close enough together and she has to start over, opening up the window for Debbie and Julia, but Julia is having issues with a few shaky blocks. Feeling confident, Debbie goes for the win, but her chain reaction stop about a quarter of the way down the beam opening up the door for Julia AND Scot and Jason who have made some real progress, buuut… Scot trips his beam and loses most of his blocks to gravity, Jason goes for the win, but his chain only makes it about halfway down the beam. As Michele gets closer to goal and Julia begins to make her way to try again to hit the gong, out of nowhere Debbie shouts that she’s ready go, but her attempt fails then Julia taps her first block again… And in a very beautifully shot scene, we watch her blocks fall perfectly into place to put the Immunity necklace on her shoulders. Julia wins Immunity! Obviously, Aubry is not happy about this…
Upon returning to camp, Debbie congratulates Julia on the win – she used all the blocks and that was the key. When the boys walk away, Debbie quickly lets the girls, and Joe, know that she wants to split the votes between Tai, Scot, and Jason – there’s no way the three of them have an Idol – and if the vote is three, three, three, they revote for Scot. Aubry is not happy that Debbie revealed “the plan” to Julia – it scares her. As this group continues to discuss the plan, the chicken is annoying everyone so Julia volunteers to find Tai so he can take care of his damn bird. When she runs into Scot, she immediately volunteers the details of the plan to him proving again that Debbie is not the mastermind she believes herself to be in this game. Scot reveals that the boys are going to vote for Cydney and if Julia wants to be their guardian angel, they will be safe and Cydney will go home. If Julia decides to go the other way, the boys are pulling out their Idols and putting on a show because it’s their only option. Whatever they have to do to keep themselves in the game, they are going to do it. Elsewhere, Aubry and Cydney are talking about Debbie’s reckless, illogical behavior and misplaced trust in Julia. Aubry needs logical people to work with and it might be time to cut Debbie. Cydney is not against the idea at all. Aubry thinks Joe won’t be against it, Cyd thinks she can get Michele on board and Cyd is right – Michele is down. Joe; however, is not. He’s will absolutely NOT vote for Debbie. There’s no need for it, he says, they have a viable force going… MmHmm, Joe. Sure ya do… So… Needing another vote, Aubry and Cydney agree to bring Julia into the foursome; Cyd and Michele talk to her and Julia is down as well… Or so she says because…
As we go into Tribal Council, young Julia has all the power. She wanted both Cydney and Debbie out of her game so no matter what her vote, she’s accomplishing a goal. The real conflict here is which alliance is better suited for her push to the Final Three. Once the group is in front of Jeff we sit through the usual banter between Jeff and the players and talk about the reward and blah blah blah. This crazy Tribal Council gets interesting when the subject of Idols is brought up and Tai states that Idols will definitely come into play tonight. Cue the Benny Hill music because it’s time for Jason and Scot’s submission to the Survivor Mini Show Within the Show: Surprise – Idols! Scot announces that Tai has an Idol, which Tai confirms, but wait, Jason says, Tai’s Idol has a brother! At this point, Joe asks Debbie if the vote is the same and she says it is… DUMB! When Jeff asks the boys what their plan is, Tai says he’s going to play the Idol because he’s absolutely getting votes that night. Jason says the when Jeff asks about Idols, he and Scot are going to Roshambo (paper rock scissors) for the Idol and leave who goes home up to fate… DUMB! Conversations are happening now. The majority six are all whispering in each other’s ears, the minority three are whispering as well and when Jeff asks if they are ready to vote… Everyone says they are good with what was discussed and I have absolutely no clue how Julia is going to swing or if the girls are going with the original plan and what that original plan is that Aubry was referring to when talking to someone…
To the votes! But first… Anyone wanna play an Immunity Idol? Tai? Nooooooooope! Tai is holding onto his Idol. We cut to Jason who raises a finger and asks Jeff for a moment of time while he and Jason conduct the business of deciding who will take ownership of the Idol – Scot wins Paper to Rock, BUT – they give the Idol to Tai, who accepts it, then says he’s gonna sit down. LOL!!! To the votes for real now: Scot, Cyd, Scot, Cyd, Cyd, Debbie… Debbie… Debbie… And everyone, but the four girls who voted for Debbie, are very confused at this point aaand I meant to say four girls because four girls voted for Debbie this week and #blindside, Debbie will be joining her Greek God and the Ice Cream Man in Ponderosa. Next time on Survivor! The Super Idol Squad feels really really really good; Jason and Scot especially, but Aubry is going to make a run at pulling Tai away from the dark side and it will result in him not knowing what to do. Woohoohooooooooo! I love Survivor. And if you love my Survivor blogs, you should check out other stuff around here, especially Jon and Eric’s Survivor Shows, which I WISH I could join in on sometime, but I’m at work, as I am when I watch the show on TV, when they film them.
